Curve Piecing Workshop in January

INMod will be offer a curve piecing workshop, Sew Down, Curves Ahead, by Heather Black at January's sew day on January 13th from 10am - 4pm at the Moran Prairie Library!!  Sew day will be for the curve workshop only, please no extra projects.


The cost of the workshop is $15 for INMod members and $25 for non-members.  The workshop will be lead by Heather, Quiltachusetts, who is a current INMod member.  Heather uses curves in many of her modern quilt designs and has had quilts displayed at QuiltCon 2016, 2017 and upcoming QuiltCon 2018.  Along with quilts at QuiltCon she has had quilts displayed at Quilt Festival and Fall Quilt Week.

During the workshop Heather will demonstrate the steps for basic curve piecing, give tips and tricks for making your curves both easy and fun, and show attendees how to spice up their curve designs with piecing and fabric choices.  The cost of the workshop includes:

  • Two Hour Class
  • Hands-on Instruction during and after the class
  • Custom INMod acrylic drunkards path template
  • Beginner level curve quilt pattern, Quarter Hours

The fabric requirements for the Quarter Hours pattern are as follows:
  • 4 yards background
  • (12) 1/4 yards, (fat quarters or fat eighths will work)
  • 2/3 yards for binding (2.5” strips)
  • 4 yards for the backing (backing may vary up to a yard based on print and the direction of the print).

After the workshop you can hon your curve piecing skills by working on your Quarters Hour pattern.    Heather will be available all sew day to help you with your curves and answer questions.

**If attending the workshop please bring your fabric, sewing machine and other necessities to the workshop.  There will be a cutting mat and ironing stations provided at the workshop and we ask, in order to conserve space, to please use these stations instead of a personal cutting mat and/or ironing board.

Before the workshop begins there will be a brief information meeting and a show and tell.  Hope to see you all there.
