INMOD - January News and Events

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!  We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and have started 2019 with a desire to sew modern quilts!  The first sew day of the year will be Jan 19th from 10am to 4pm at the Associated Industries building (1206 N Lincoln St, Ste 200, Spokane 99201).

If you missed the chance to work on the 2019 QuiltCon charity quilt don't fret, the charity quilt still needs to be bound and a hanging sleeve still needs to be sewn on, and there will be opportunity at the sew day to do some hand stitching on the charity quilt before it gets shipped off to QuiltCon!

We'll also be trying out a NewYear Stash Refresh with a guild swap at Sew Day.  To participate bring fabric from your stash that you want are willing to part with in order to trade and swap with others at sew day.  There will be a table setup for the swap where you can place your fabric and look through what other brought.  Please only take fabric equivalent to what you contributed, so if you bring 1 fat quarter only take 1 fat quarter.

The beginning of the year also means it is, more than, time pay your 2019 membership dues.  Dues are $35 for the year and include all the benefits of the national guild, free patterns, webinars, modern blocks, QuiltCon discounts, and much more, plus local guild benefits, free sew days, workshops, and fellowship with quilters and friends.

January is the last chance to submit your name to the board for a leadership position.  There are 1-3 spots on the board that need to be filled and if you are interested in be more involved in guild events and planning for the year please email the guild at info@inmodquiltguild.com.

If you are a member don't forget to sign up for the Heartbeat Quilting - INMOD Angela Walters class!!  All members should have received a link via email to the class in December but if you didn't get the email please contact the guild at info@inmodquiltguild.com and we will look into it.  As of right now this is the only class still open so if you wanted to attend an Angela Walters class this April this is your big chance!  After Jan 31st this class will become open to the public and at that time it will fill up instantly!

Finally, the exhibit at the Library was a huge success and the Library has invited us to do a similar exhibit this year!  If you loaned us a quilt for the exhibit, THANK YOU!  Without your beautiful quilts there would be no exhibit.  All the quilts have been picked up from the library and are safe in guild's procession.  We will be returning quilts at the Jan Sew Day.  Please plan on attending sew day or stopping by to collect your quilt.  If you are unable to make it to sew day please email us at info@imnodquiltguild.com and arrange a time to pick up your quilt with a board member.  By far the easiest way to get your quilt will be sew day Jan 19th from 10am to 4pm.
