April News and Events

Please join us for April's sew day on the 20th from 10 am to 4 pm at the Associated Industries Building, 1206 N Lincoln St, Ste 200, 99201.  The guild will be providing pizza for lunch and we are asking members to bring snacks and sides that compliment the lunch entrée.

The presentation on improv sewing/quilting was postponed last month so we could get started on the raffle quilt blocks but Judy will be doing her presentation this month.  Speaking of raffle quilt blocks, thank you to everyone that volunteered to make a block, or two or three.  We will be collecting finished blocks at sew day and encourage you to finish any incomplete blocks at sew day.  The guild's goal is to have the raffle quilt top done by the end of April so if you can't make it to sew day you will need to arrange getting your blocks to a board member by April 28th by emailing or messaging the guild (info@inmodquiltguild.com).

Part of our guild's mission is introducing our communities to the modern quilting aesthetic and one way to fulfill that mission is to enter modern quilts into local quilt shows.  The Norther Idaho Quilters  are hosting a quilt show June 14th and 15th in Coeur d'Alene, ID.

The entry deadline for the show is April 16th!  If you can't think of what to enter in the show, either of the guild challenge quilts would be a great choice, i.e. the mini challenge from 2017 or the Tiger Lilly challenge 2018.  To enter online please visit www.northidahoquilters.com and click on their quilt show tab.  Please following the North Idaho Quilters instructions for entering a quilt.

We hope to see you all April's sew day and enter a quilt!
