November News & Events

Yellow leaves with the phrase "News & Events for November"

I hope you're all getting the chance to enjoy the crisp weather, apple cider, and cozy sweaters of fall before winter really sets in. The month is already flying by! We have quite a few updates this month, so let's get to it!

Member Survey

Everyone should have received our member survey, and I hope you all get the chance to fill it out. Now more than ever it's important for us to hear from you, and we will be taking a deep dive into the results once the survey closes. If you have additional comments not addressed by the survey, please don't hesitate to email the guild to share those with us.

Communication Update

Going forward we'll be having a more regular communication cadence, with a blog post (and subsequent email) highlighting upcoming news and events during the first week of the month, and a reminder Instagram and Facebook post the Monday before sew day. We'll also be posting other miscellaneous updates on our Instagram and Facebook pages as needed. Communication is one of the items addressed in the survey, so our communication strategy might change a bit after we analyze the survey results, but at the bare minimum we'll be doing the blog, Instagram, and Facebook posts as detailed above.

Guild Calendar

As part of our communication strategy we'll be maintaining a Google calendar with all the guild events and deadlines, as well as upcoming classes, sew-alongs, and other events of interest. You'll be able to click on the calendar events and additional details will pop up. If you have events you think would be of interest to other members let us know and we'll get them added. The calendar is accessible on the Events page, and you can also open it in your browser, or add it to your mobile calendar app of choice with this link:  https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/hueegvfbkj7tpgicl651hhliu4%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

Upcoming Events

Sew Days

November's sew day will be the 21st, and December's will be on the 12th. Please especially note the December date, as it is on the second Saturday, instead of the third. You can also view all the 2021 sew day dates on our Sew Day Information page.

QuiltCon 2021

Registration is open for QuiltCon 2021. It is an all virtual format, and a great opportunity to have a QuiltCon "lite" experience, as registration is only $8 to view all the quilts, as well as watch the awards ceremony. If you register for any lectures or workshops your $8 registration fee will be waived. There are still openings in lots of great lectures and workshops, so head on over to their website and check it out! The Event Catalog has a great overview of how QuiltCon will work and the schedule, and the Interactive Schedule is a good way to browse lectures and workshops.

Other Events

Check in on the Events page for upcoming quilty events, both guild-related and not. We'll be updating this page weekly, so if you see an event you think others would be interested in, let us know and we'll add it!

Membership Renewal

It's that time of the year again! If you are a renewing member you can email the guild to let us know you'd like to renew, and pay through PayPal. Dues are $35 again this year. Send payments to inmodquiltguild@gmail.com, and please select the "friends and family" option. If you know someone who wants to join as a new member, please direct them to our membership form to register with us.

If you renew or sign up by December 31, you'll receive one of our fancy new stickers, and two pins! (picture coming soon :) )

We want to see your work!

Last but not least, we want to show off your work! We would like to start sharing the work of guild members on our Instagram and Facebook. If you'd like to share your work please email pictures to the guild, or tag your work on Instagram with #InModMakes. When we feature your work you'll also receive a fun little sticker pack as a thank you.

In conclusion, I want to thank you so much for all your participation, flexibility, and input this year. It hasn't been easy, but as always, you are the best part of this guild. You are some of the most amazing, creative, supportive, and wonderful people I have met, and you truly are what makes this guild so fantastic. I'm looking forward to a great 2021 with all of you!
