Time to Enter Your Challenge Quilts

Yes, entries for the WSQ quilt show is October are now open.  While your Curve/Kona Tiger Lily challenge quilt doesn't been to be finished until the end of September you will need to enter your quilt now until August to have it displayed at the WSQ show.

If you are entering your quilt please enter them in the Modern Machine Quilted category and include at the beginning of quilt description the following statement all in caps: 
This will help people viewing the quilts recognize them as all part of the same challenge and spread awareness about our guild.  Here is the link to the WSQ online entry form:

Sew Day Saturday June 16th

Come join us June Saturday June 16th for a fun day of sewing.  Sew Day will be held at the Associated Industries building, 1206 N Lincoln St, Set 200, 99201.  There will be a brief rundown of guild events and news at the beginning of the day followed by show and tell.

While the challenge quilts don't need to be completed until the end of September it is time to submit entries to this year's WSQ show in October.  Please prepare a brief statement about your challenge quilt to bring to the sew day.  A board member will be available to guide you through the online entry form.  If you can't make it to sew day please submit you quilt statement along with your contact information to if you intend to have your challenge quilt displayed at the show.
Just a quick reminder, challenge quilts must be 50" x 60", contain at least one curve element and use a  full fat quarter of Kona Cotton Tiger Lily, the Robert Kaufman color of the year.

June News and Events

The winner is...

What a great warm palette and a come from behind win for #3!  Thank you for everyone who voted and we look forward to seeing your design submissions.  All submissions are due by July 31st and should be a queen sized modern traditional design that incorporates paper piecing.  Each raffle quilt design submission will also be considered for the QuiltCon charity quilt, which has a different color palette, see the QuiltCon website for details.

Designs for the charity quilt are also due by July 31st and will need to follow the MQG guidelines on the QuiltCon website.
Sew Day this month is Saturday June 16th from 10 am to 4 pm at Associate Industries building, 1206 N Lincoln St, Suite 200, Spokane WA 99201.  Please feel free to drop in for a quick visit or bring your sewing projects for the day.  Don't forget to bring a lunch or snacks to share.
